Goodbye and thankyou
It is with a very heavy heart, that I must inform you, Gorman’s Clifftop House and Restaurant, is for sale, having first opened its doors in April 1980.
The house is on the market and it is our intention to operate the business up to the end of this season. Vincent and I have run this business, with great commitment over nearly 40 years. The time has come “to hang up the boots”.
The joy of our journey in operating this business has been wonderful. We have made tremendous friends, met so many interesting people, partaken in Good Food Ireland events nationally and in the U.K. We have been, honoured with so many awards and press articles. All this from a modest bungalow, built in the height of recession, at the end of the 70’s. So many people were heading to the States, but we wanted to stay. What a journey. I thank you all for making it possible.
It has been wonderful to work and raise our family, in this beautiful house, with its stunning scenery. This would never have been possible, without the support, of our neighbours, our guests, our families and our colleagues, who believed in us and sang out our praises. I thank all our suppliers farmers, fishermen and local producers, who made available the great food we got to serve. Thanks to all the services and deliveries that make running a business in a rural area so much easier. Thanks to all our local tourism colleagues who looked after our guests so well, when they were out and about, enjoying all the Dingle Peninsula has to offer.
So goodbye, to the chats, goodbye the the rhubarb crumble. Goodbye to sharing the awe of those amazing sunsets, and the wonderful colours in the sky.
